“Dramatically Sweet”

I think its a bit Dramatic, but also Sweet…. It didn’t start out this way, of course things never do anymore with me, but I am happy with how it turned out. She has color and bit of GLAM. I have painted pieces before in purple and I liked them, but I always find purple difficult to paint. So in my head I wanted a soft pink with a little purple showing.

This was the before picture. So I started out with a Tea Rose and an Apricot blend all over the whole piece. In the center I added Aubergine along with a wash of Spanish Moss all over the whole piece, even over the Tea Rose. I love to add a Spanish moss washes to purples and blacks. I felt that the Aubergine was way to overbearing, so I took a damp rag and wiped it off, the left over was the pretty pink, so I left it.

I knew I wanted to add some GLAM to this so I added some Metallic paint “Gold Digger”, I may have got a bit carried away but when you stand back and look at it, It really shines. I also added some Warm Gold gilding wax to had a little more dimension to the gold around the handles. I also dug out my Best Dang Wax in Brown, which I haven’t used in a while, and added the brown wax to areas.

So what about the Drips you ask??? Well that was just one more happy mistake so I went with it, its my quirky way of “doing my style”. My Tea Rose and Spanish Moss were really wet and dripped everywhere so I just went with it and later added more.

Its just perfect to me “Dramatically Sweet”.
